Technician

Job Description 

We are looking for Technicians to be responsible for cable installation at multi-dwelling unit locations. This process includes multiple aspects such as pathway construction, rough-in, routing, Telecommunication Room build-out, cable terminations, labeling, and grounding. The Technician’s goal is to complete tasks with a high degree of quality and efficiency while practicing professionalism for optimal job performance. 

Core Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Installation of structured cabling systems including all aspects of the installation process 
• Reads and interprets all floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets 
• Properly sets up a variety of testers 
• Performs system testing and troubleshooting as required 
• Terminates, labels, tests, and troubleshoots structure cabling installations 
• Assist installers to complete all the tasks and responsibilities of their positions 
• Proactively oversee and lead job site organization and basic housekeeping maintenance 
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor 
• Maintain satisfactory compliance with customer security requirements 
• Excel in technical tasks such as testing and troubleshooting 
• Other duties will be at management’s discretion 

Superior Candidate will: 

• 1-2 years work experience with new commercial construction structured cabling/fiber projects. (preferred) 
• Hands-on experience with fiber, coax, or copper installations/projects 
• Hands-on experience with security devices for access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV installations/projects 
• Ability to choose the correct tool and methodology for a given task and can help other team members do the same 
• Ability to listen carefully to and follow instructions 
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning from senior team members 
• Exhibit a positive attitude 
• Ability to meet deadlines 
• Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as the project requires 

• Self-motivated and excellent work ethic 
• Demonstrated teamwork and versatility in integrating into multiple work environments 

Qualifications: 

• Must have a valid Driver’s License 
• Clean driving record with no violations 
• Proven work experience as a technician, or similar role in the industry 
• Must be at least 21 years of age 
• Must be able to pass a background, drug screening, and MVR check 
• Must be able to travel 
• Reliable transportation
