IET Systems is looking for a Fence Construction Foreman with experience in installing permanent fencing. This position will supervise, coordinate activities, and work with workers engaged in the construction, installation, and repair of the commercial and industrial fences. This position does require travel and offers excellent benefits. The pay is $25-35 hourly depending on experience.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review drawings and create an installation plan
- Daily reporting of progress to the management team
- Verify that all parts, materials, and tools needed for project installation are loaded on the truck prior to travel and mobilization to project
- Discuss fencing needs with customers and get clarification on specifications when needed
- Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
- Prepare the site area for installation of the fence including removing rocks, bushes, or other obstacles from the designated fence path with needed verification that it is part of the contract
- Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewmen and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
- Measure and lay out fence lines
- Locate, understand markings, call dig safe, and follow requirements for underground utility safety prior to digging
- Dig holes, set post, pave/bag concrete, stretch wire, stretch chain link install pickets, and hang gates
- Ensure the specifications for the site have been met by the crew and /or subcontractors
- Complete administrative tasks such as the collection of signatures from all work performed, employee time sheets, and other paperwork
- Removal, loading, transportation, and disposal of old fence at the site as required
- Drive company truck to customer sites and back to branch following DOT regulations
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, reach lift, skid steer, and attachments for loading and unloading of trucks, installation of fences, or moving materials on company property or at job sites
- Inspect and complete a safety checklist for all equipment, power tools, and machinery prior to each use
- Other duties will be at management's discretion
The Superior Candidate will:
- Have 1 year or more experience as a construction foreman or managing projects
- Have 3 years experience installing fences and gates
- Have attention to detail
- Have excellent customer service
- Be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day 5 days per week. May be required to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call
- Have the ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, and hardhat
- Have the ability to work in adverse weather conditions which can include but are not limited to extreme heat and cold temperatures, inclement weather, and adverse driving conditions
- Demonstrate good diagnostic skills assessment, problem-solving and decision making
- Have the ability to listen carefully and follow instructions
- Be able to follow and establish safe work practices
- Have the ability to meet deadlines
- Have excellent leadership skills and motivated behavior
